Minutes for September 13, 2018

Following a walking tour of Main Street led by Nancy Vaillancourt, the Blooming Prairie Branch of AAUW met at the Pizza Cellar. The meeting was called to order at 8:25 p.m. by President Jean Peterson. Thirteen members were in attendance.

Minutes:  The minutes stand approved as submitted.

Treasurer’s Report: There is $2,585.51 in our checking account. Included in that amount is $2,256 for Village Affair space rentals. A thank you was received from Mitchell Oswald for the scholarship he received.

Committee Reports:

Program: Beth announced that our October meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the library. At 7:00 p.m. an election forum will be held in the City Council Chambers. The state representative candidates for District 27A will answer questions. The public is invited. Bring a guest with you!

Membership: No report

Scholarship: Will vote on two members for the scholarship committee in February.

Village Affair: As of the meeting date 108 spaces had been rented to 59 vendors. The committee will meet again on October 4. Mary Malherek will have the key to the school. Heidi has the aprons. Naomi distributed tickets, posters, and a sheet of ideas for the basket. Sign up sheets were also handed out.

New Business: The budget is being worked on.
