Minutes December 13, 2018
The December meeting of the Blooming Prairie AAUW was held on Thursday, December 13 at Jean Peterson’s home.
The meeting was called to order at 7:25 p.m.
Minutes: The minutes stand approved as submitted.
Treasurer’s Report: There is $5,411 in the checking account. Jeanette and Pam bought gifts for the Santa House.
Committee Reports:
Program: Beth and Mary, program co-chairs, will not be here for the January program. It was decided we would go ahead with the program at the City Center on January 10. Marian Mast will present information on rocks and his extensive collection. Marilyn, Karla, and Nancy will make arrangements for the program.
Our February program will be a discussion of the book Educated. Books will be available at the library and from those willing to share their own copies.
Old Business: Four members helped wrapped packages and made nametags for the Santa House.
The meeting was tabled until after the white elephant auction.
New Business: Joanne moved to give $100 to Santa House, $400 to Feed My Starving Children, and $400 to the Back Pack Program. Liza seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Announcements: Naomi will be teaching Community Education Yoga beginning on January 8 in the BP high school library.
