Minutes – January 14, 2016

The meeting was called to order by President Mary Malherek.

Minutes:  The minutes will be posted on the website.

Treasurer’s Report:  There is $2,957.17 in the checking account.  The auction yielded $700 and checks have been sent to the Boys and Girls Club – $200, and to the Robotics Club – $500.  The money has also been sent to the Women of Today for the Village Affair.

Committee Reports:

Programs – The February meeting will be a discussion of the book The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd.  We will meet at the Pizza Cellar at 7 p.m.  Beth and Nancy will lead the discussion.  Nancy brought books to the meeting for those needing them.

Scholarship Committee:  Consists of Loretta, Austra, Phyllis, and Jean.

Old Business:  None

New Business:  A nominating committee will be appointed in February and will present a slate of nominees in March,with the vote to take place in April.  Positions open are the President and Treasurer.

Announcements:  The Boys and Girls Club Bash will be held on Saturday, February 6. There will also be an open house on Wednesday, January 20 from 5 – 6:30 p.m. to meet the new director.

The meeting was adjourned.

Joanne presented an interesting program on Homer Laughlin china.  There was a quiz and prizes were given.
