Meeting December 12, 2013

      Members of Blooming Prairie Branch AAUW met for a Holiday Party and White Elephant Auction.

      In discussing the budget for next year, it was determined that $2,500 was available for scholarships. A motion by Mary M. and seconded by Nancy V. passed to use the $2,500 for scholarships.

     Discussion on the White Elephant Auction produced three possible recipients for the money raised: Boys and Girls Club, Steele County Food Shelf and the Blooming Prairie Ministerium. The decision was postponed until after the Auction. Following the Auction, discussion indicated a balance of $3,924.56 in the treasury, including the $2,500 scholarship dollars. The Auction brought in $891 and it was decided to take another $9 from the treasury to make $900, to be split evenly between the three above mentioned recipients.

      There was no further business to discuss and the party resumed.
