September Minutes
Meeting September 12, 2013
Following a presentation on “Pioneering Women of Steele County”, the September business meeting of Blooming Prairie branch AAUW was called to order. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read in the blog.
The treasurer reported a checking account balance of $924.76. This is after the $3,000 school and Village Affair rentals having been taken out. However, the balance does not account for the amount that Amy N. should have gotten for her presentation last spring, since she has not cashed her check.
Committee Reports
-
Program – the program booklet was handed out by Heidi H. The next year’s programs were introduced by Jean P. and Heidi. It was suggested that the year’s programs be posted on our blog as a service to other branches needing ideas. This will be done.

- Scholarship – The recipients of last year’s scholarships were James M., Breanna B. and Jason J.
- Village Affair – Pam F. reported that ninety-six and 1/2 spaces are rented so far, a very good start. Sara C. of Women of Today is planning the lunch menu, to be prepared by Conger Catering. A sign-up sheet was passed around for goodies to be made by members.
Following the business, Nancy officially welcomed Ashley V. on behalf of the members. Ashley was a former AAUW scholarship winner and had come as a guest of Pam F.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
