December 9, 2010 Meeting Minutes

The brief December 9th meeting was called to order at 7:10 pm by Pres. Mary M with 12 members in attendance.   An update on our 2010 Village Affair food vendor:  bill was settled at $110.00.  Net Profit from 2010 AAUW was approx $1800.00.  Marilyn M thanked the group for their efforts in volunteering to make the day a success.

Topic was changed to the night’s activity.  Suggestions for the 2010 White Elephant auction charity proceeds included the following:  Heifer Project, Steele County Historical Society, the Steele County Food Shelf, the Boys & Girls Club, and Pine Springs Pool.

Motion made by Betty B to split the proceeds* equally between the Blooming Prairie Boys & Girls Club and Pine Springs Pool.  Motion seconded by Heidi H. Motion carried unanimously.

Meeting adjorned at 7:30 pm.  A wonderful evening at the home of 3 AAUW members ensued.   Special thanks to our hostesses.

*Proceeds from the auction totalled $453.00.  An extra $40 was kicked in by one AAUW member who was not present.  Then an extra $7 was added, to make our grand total for the White Elephant Auction an even $500!  Treasurer Dianna V will forward checks in the amount of $250.00 each to the B & G Club and the Pine Springs Pool.
